Relax and Explore is the tour that has received the most enthusiastic feedback from our guests. Your hosts – Italians who have lived for over 25 years in the United States, a family with an aristocratic background and local history that unlocks access to exclusive places closed to the general public – designed an eight-day program to show you the beauty of Tuscany via places and experiences that are off the beaten path, and at the same time giving you leisure time to relax and enjoy the quiet of the Tuscan countryside.  The offer includes transportation (including to/from Florence airport) to all events, daily breakfast and several lunches and dinners at the Villa, housekeeping, daily guided tours, wine tastings, a cooking class and tickets for museums, castles, concerts and other attractions. 

The Villa combines modern comforts (AC, swimming pool, high-speed internet, rooms and bathrooms with up-to-date features) with the charm of a centuries-old European mansion decorated with original antique furniture. The 150 acre property, setback more than a mile from the nearest road, includes acres of olive trees, an extensive vegetable garden, and several hiking paths. 

The villa is conveniently located near Florence, Siena, Pienza, San Gimignano, the Val d’Orcia, Montalcino and the Chianti Classico wineries.

Itinerary

Saturday

• Pick up at Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence

• Arrival at the Villa, check in, leisure/relaxation time

• Light Lunch at the Villa

• Walk in the woods

• Dinner at the Villa, served in the garden by the pool with the products of our organic vegetable garden

Sunday

• Breakfast at the Villa

• Walk throughout the property, including vegetable garden, olive grove and visit to local shepherd for informal cheese tasting

• Light Lunch at the Villa in the garden by the Pool

• Leisure time at the pool

• Departure and visit to picturesque town of Trequanda

• Dinner at local gourmet Restaurant Conte Matto in Trequanda

Monday

• Breakfast at the Villa

• Departure to Pienza, the “perfect city”

• Visit to Pienza with local, English speaking Guide

• Lunch at gourmet restaurant Boccon DiVino in Montalcino with beautiful view of Val D’Orcia

• Visit to Sant’Antimo Abbey and/or the town of Montalcino

• Return to and relax time at the Villa

• Dinner at the Villa, served under the gazebo by the Pool

Tuesday

• Breakfast at the Villa

• Leisure time at the Villa

• Departure to Siena, meeting with guide and lunch at historic ChigianArtCafé

• Tour of Siena with English Speaking guide including visit to the

  Duomo and the City Hall with Ambrogio Lorenzetti’s frescos “Allegory of good and bad government”

• Free & shopping time in Siena

• Dinner at Al Mangia Restaurant with spectacular view in Piazza del Campo

Wednesday

• Breakfast at the Villa

• Departure to Vico d’Elsa in the Chianti Region

• Visit of our family farm, cellar and winery Fattoria Majnoni Guicciardini and our family Mansion, which includes a chapel with frescos of the 16th century

• Wine tasting and lunch at the Fattoria Majnoni Guicciardini

• Departure to San Gimignano

• Visit of San Gimignano with local English-speaking guide

• Return to the Villa

• Dinner at the Villa, served under the gazebo by the Pool

Thursday

• Breakfast at the Villa

• Leisure time at the Villa

• Lunch at the Villa

• Visit to Arezzo with English-speaking guide including walks, art and architecture a free time to shop

• Dinner at local gourmet restaurant Lancia d’Oro in Arezzo

• Return to the Villa

Friday

• Breakfast at the Villa

• Breakfast at the Villa

• Visit to the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore

• Light lunch at the Villa

• Leisure time at the Villa, garden and Pool

• Cooking class with Tuscan Chef Alessandro followed by a dinner served at the poolside at the Villa
